To buy or not to buy...

Here is the sewing machine I have been eyeing for a while. It is cheap, simple, has lots of fancy options, and I can order it through Walmart which means if it ever spontaneously combusts due to user error I can easily get a new one. This being said, I really have no clue what is considered "good" sewing machine-wise. Any of you professional seamstresses (almost put sewers....definitely not the term I was going for...) out there have any opinion?

  1. Hi Lauren! When I was young my dad MADE me take sewing lessons. I thought I was being tortured then but now I am really grateful (typical, right?). Anyway, I still remember my sewing teacher telling us that she only used Necchi sewing machines and I have heard a lot of awesome things about them. I have a very basic Bernina that I was handed-down from my mom. I LOVE it. It's been around for a long time and I have never had a problem. That said, I would probably go with the one from Walmart. You can always return it if you aren't happy and it looks like a lot of fun.

Good luck with your decision! Miss you guys.
